nesbittslimesoda asked: For no good reason, you've been drafted to the Cleveland Indians as their new star batter. It's as if you've woken up with amazing baseball talent! What do you choose as your at-bat song?

OK, this question is really weird for me to answer because my mom used to be a die-hard Indians fan (like, I would be trying to sleep in my room and she would be watching the second game in a double header screaming “KILL, KILL” at the top of her lungs)… and then she got a job working in HR for them & it was basically like a living hell because (SURPRISE) this “sports team” turned out to be run by an Old Boys Club (code for DICKS — except for most of the players, who were super super nice — this was like Carlos Baerga-era if that helps in terms of context) & the tables were turned and suddenly we weren’t even able to talk about the Indians and also oh my god how have they gotten away with such a racist logo for so long???

Anyway, what kind of songs do people even play when they’re at bat? Like, “Tell ‘em” by Sleigh Bells? I am kind of into Jock Jams, to be honest, because they remind me of being at a roller rink in the early nineties. Really, if I am going to be in front of a bunch of drunk screaming Clevelanders (you can tell my baseball experience is more informed by Muni than it is by the Jake/Progressive Field) & they are all going to be looking at me, I want “Shake Some Action” by The Flamin’ Groovies to be playing because that song is awesome.
